ColdGlaze Pro 2 - Large An excellent value for the professional Restorer or Conservator who is involved with substantial production.

TO ACHIEVE A MATT FINISH
For a matt finish, simply mix Sylmasta Matting Agent S532 with the Coldglaze PRO 2 to achieve desired finish.
Mix quantities: 70g~80g of Matting Agent per litre of Coldglaze PRO 2.

TO CREATE A WHITE GLAZE
For a white glaze, simply add Sylmasta Titanium Dioxide to the Coldglaze PRO 2, as desired.

TO AIRBRUSH
To the mixed Coldglaze PRO 2 add approximately 80% to 100% by volume of PRO 2 Thinners to obtain a suitable viscosity. Adjustments to the mix can be made, dependent upon desired finish.

CLEANING UP
Use Coldglaze PRO 2 thinners for thinning and cleaning up.

NOTE TO EXISTING USERS
Tests have shown that a change to the mix ratio will give improved results. We now recommend a four to one mix, that is four parts resin to one part hardener.

Kit is 1.25 liter (1 liter of Resin & 250ml of Hardener).

ColdGlaze Pro 2 Thinner This thinner is specifically designed for ColdGlaze Pro 2, ChinaGlaze, ReNamel, solvent based acrylic paints, Ultimate Golds & Silver Sylmasta products.

Use ColdGlaze PRO 2 thinners for thinning and cleaning up.

TO AIRBRUSH
To the mixed Coldglaze PRO 2 add approximately 20% by volume of PRO 2 Thinners to obtain a suitable viscosity. Adjustments to the mix can be made, dependent upon desired finish.

The thinner with the blue label only mixes with the ColdGlaze with a blue label. Yellow labeled product is compatible with the previous versions that had yellow labels. The Pro 2 thinner is less harsh than the previous yellow labeled thinner. If you are going to use the older yellow labeled thinner with Pro 2, just reduce the amount by a bit.

Rustins Rustins is no longer being manufactured and is replaced by ColdGlaze.  

ChinaGlaze This is a 1-part low temperature glaze (Improvement to Chintex). This new Low Temperature Firing Glaze is perfectly clear non-yellowing and has low odor during firing. ChinaGlaze is normally fired at 120°C (248°F) for just 30 minutes; this will give an excellent hard gloss finish with high strength surface adhesion. A matte finish can be achieved by adding Matte powder (see below) at the rate of approximately 7 grams (1/4 ounce) per 125ml (4 ounces, or 1/2 cup) of glaze. A slightly tougher surface can be produced if fired at 140°C (284°F) for 20 minutes. ChinaGlaze can be mixed with oil colors or powder pigments. Powder pigments will maintain the high strength characteristics of the glaze. Use the Thinner listed directly below for air brushing and brush cleaning.

Titanium Dioxide This is a white pigment that can be added to ColdGlaze Pro 2 to make a fantastic white primer.

Titanium dioxide pigment is a fine white powder. When used in paints, plastics or paper, it provides for maximum whiteness and opacity. It gives paint high hiding power, meaning the ability to mask or hide a substrate. It does this more effectively than any other white pigment. Today, titanium dioxide pigment is by far the most important material used by the paints and plastics industry for whiteness and opacity. These unique properties are derived from the refractive index of titanium dioxide. The refractive index expresses the ability to bend and scatter light. Titanium dioxide has the highest refractive index of any material known to man, greater even than diamond.
